Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The word (fear) here should read respect. Fearing the Lord is the wrong attitude when we’re seeking knowledge. We need to have a respect for God and His word if we are to receive knowledge from God.
The (Lord) is simply God
is the beginning of knowledge: God says His word is the beginning of knowledge, and of course, there’s other knowledge, but we need to keep God’s word is our reasoning when we are learning how to live our lives.
But: (but) put contras what we just read
fools: is defined in Webster’s as a person who acts unwisely or imprudently; a silly person.
despise: is to feel contempt or a deep repugnance for
the fool despises and rejects wisdom and knowledge that’s why he’s a silly person

Just a little something to think about today.
