A Word from Above
Romans 2:4 …not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance.
When I was a kid, I would hear that I had to be good enough for God to accept me. That God was unhappy with me, and I had to change my ways if I was ever going to stand a chance to get into heaven.
The problem was that on most weekends, my lifestyle was never going to allow me into heaven — I was headed in the other direction.
After learning and understanding that God wasn’t a mean God, He wasn’t mad at me, and that He understood me more that I understood Him. It was much easier to give God a chance in my life.
It is much earlier to repent and accept a loving God than to learn to be good enough. Thank God!
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world (the inhabitants), but that the world (the inhabitants)through him might be saved.
God isn’t mad at us. He’s trying to save us from our ways through His goodness, not ours.
